Assembling Long Panels

Some of the panels are longer than the standard eight-food plywood sheet, so they are joined together using finger joints.
You can probably see that the puzzle joints are slightly bulged at the end of each "finger." This helps keep the panels properly aligned. CLC is using a new method for gluing puzzle joints that should help quite a bit with the appearance of the finished joint.  First, after careful alignment, the tip of each finger is held in place with a bit of super glue.
Then a strip of fiberglass tape is laid across the joint and saturated with epoxy.  The tape is on what will be the inside of the camper, leaving the outside smooth (or easily sanded smooth).  If I'm careful, I'll be able to "bright finish" (varnish) the outside rather than paint it, if I choose.
